To provide a variety of outdoor learning experiences and skill - development opportunities that will help participants to explore and enjoy the outdoors with confidence while developing a deeper understanding, appreciation and respect for our natural environment.

DESCRIPTION OF OFFERINGS
Canoe the St. Croix River:
This one-day trip boasts
beautiful
scenery, good fishing, and opportunities to view wildlife. You will learn the
basic canoe strokes and strategies for navigating this remote river. No previous
experience is necessary. The
St. Croix River is the boundary between Maine and New Brunswick and
was the site of the last log drive in Maine.
Cost: $85 per person includes transport, guide, and equipment. Four day guided canoe camping trips also available. $495.
Back Country Day Trips:
Spend
a day in the back country. Explore the shorelines and streams of remote
waters by canoe or kayak; observe and photograph wildlife and plant life; enjoy
your lunch on a quiet sand beach; walk into the forests on trails used by loggers
100 years ago.
Cost: $75 per person. The same adventure is available by quietly
motorized canoe at a cost of $100 per person.
Canoe / Camping Expeditions - Down East Lakes Region:
Enjoy the scenery and wild life of this remote waterway of interconnected lakes and streams. Explore the coves and backwaters, try your and at fishing, watch the sunset as your guide prepares the best outdoor meals in Down East Maine. No experience necessary.
Cost: $110 per day. By motorized Grand Laker Canoe $150 per day.
Lake Tours:
Tour
Big Lake or West Grand Lake by power boat. Let us introduce you to
the vastness and remote beauty of these Down East Lakes. Explore the
beaches, marshes
and streams. Observe and photograph the wildlife. Enjoy a shore lunch prepared
by your guide. This is an excellent way to introduce yourself to the backcountry.
Cost: Half day $50/person, Full day $100/person. Group rates available (max 6 persons).
Womens Trips & Instruction
Enjoy a unique customized outdoor experience while canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and /or camping.
Half day: $40, Full Day: $75, Multi-day: $100/day.
Boat, Kayak, and Canoe Rentals, Outfitting and Transportation:
Let
us help you organize your outdoor adventure. Van transport available.
Cost: Canoe/kayak rentals $35/day; Boat and motor $45/day plus gas.
Pole and Paddle:
Learn
and practice a variety of canoe strokes and strategies for both flat
and moving water. Practice the art of canoe poling used by early loggers to
move supplies up and down stream.
Cost: Poling clinic (flat water-2 hr.) $25; Canoe strokes (flat water - 2
hr.) $25; Poling and Paddling (moving water) one day trip $75
GPS, Map & Compass Instruction:
Learn
to use a topographic map, a magnetic compass, and your hand held GPS.
Gain the confidence to travel freely through the woods and the waters of even
the remotest areas. Practice your skills on our own compass and GPS course.
Cost: One day classes, $65; weekend classes, $130;
private instruction $25/hour.
Outdoor Cooking and Baking:
Planning
and preparing delicious food is an important element in any outdoor
adventure. Learn how to dine in luxury in a wilderness setting while preparing
your own meal using open fires, Dutch ovens, and camp stoves. Learn the techniques
of menu planning, cooking, and packing foods for your adventure.
Cost: $75 per person.
Fly Fishing Clinics:
Learn
and practice the fine art of fly fishing. Topics include: equipment,
casting, stream tactics, knots, fly selection, presentation, safety, entomology,
and ethics.
Cost: One-Day
course $100; Two-Day Course $200; Private Instruction
